It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. It’s not that I’ve stopped loving polish, it’s just that I’m not big on blogging…it feels too much like work sometimes.
Anyhoo…I nabbed this lovely pastel purple, it’s Maybelline ‘Eternal Lilac’ alongside the darker purple, OPI ‘Dutch You Just Love OPI’.
The Maybelline goes on a little like paint, but two coats and it’s opaque.
I’m not a fan of Maybelline’s polishes usually, and despite loving this colour, this polish hasn’t changed my mind. Usually a quality polish will last from 10-14 days on my nails pretty easily, but this chipped on me after only 5 days. Ironic considering the polish branding is ‘Super Stay 7 Days Gel Colour’…it’s neither gel nor did it stay on for 7 days.
So make of that what you will.
The OPI on the other hand is not only a gorgeous colour, but it just will stay on my nails like it’s made of glue. You can’t really see it in this pic, but it has microscopic gold particles, which just give it a lovely shimmery depth, without it being too metalic looking.
I’m really into flat colours at the moment. It could be because we’ve just hit Spring in Australia, but I’m seriously loving the flat girly colours right now.
Forgive the dodgy dots. I did them with my left hand, and lets face it, it can be difficult doing polka dots or any nail art perfectly when you’re using your gump arm. They end up looking like you’ve done them after throwing down a bottle of Wild Turkey with that cheapy no name brand reconstituted orange juice. And this polka dot atrocity proves that point fully.
Damnit…next time I’m doing kitten paw prints.
